The photographic calendar wouldn’t be the same without the arrival of the Redwings onto the UK shores, for me its what signifies the arrival of winter.

Redwing

Redwing migrate to the UK non-stop from southern Scandinavia flying in company with fieldfares and blackbirds during October.

Migration

To photograph them is a fairly difficult challenge as they are a very skitty bird but to get them with a clean background is something I still haven’t achieved.
